Bryan Jackson
Bryan D. Jackson
Bryan Jackson is a North Carolina native. His writing and research interests include middle grade and young adult fiction, poetry, family systems theory, and Native American history and culture. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees, with post-master's training in Bowen family systems theory at the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family in Washington, D.C.
He enjoys applying Bowen theory to canine behavioral problems, and views his relationship to the gi li (dog) as sacred. He belongs to the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators and the Wordcraft Circle of Native Writers and Storytellers.
He is a voting member in the National Congress of American Indians and a Life Member in the First Families of the Cherokee Nation (Sonicooie).
